Complete Rajouri Medical College work by June 2018: Zulfkar to PWD

JAMMU, Mar 23: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today asked the executing agencies to expedite construction of Medical College Rajouri to make it operational by June next year.
Speaking during a meeting convened to review developmental works carried out by Public Works Department along with Forest Department, the Minister said Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is monitoring the project herself and is keen for its early completion.
The Minister stressed upon the officers to ensure the college work which was started in January this year, is completed by June next year. He urged upon the executing agency that if required they should work in double shifts to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe. He also directed the agency to depute a dedicated Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) for overseeing the work on the project.
During the meeting, the Minister instructed the officers present to concretize 12 kms stretch of Koteranka-Khawas road. He said the stretch of the road passes through dense forest cover and due to its shade macadamization doesn’t last for long time. “It is better to learn lesson from the past experience and instead of wasting time and resources the stretch of road should be concretized to avoid problems in future”, he asserted.
The Minister further directed PWD authorities to submit revised indent to Forest Department for transfer of land if any coming under the alignment of the road.
Besides, he asked the concerned agencies to expedite construction of road from Kewal Morh to Targain via Gotu, and directed Forest Department to depute some officials to monitor tree felling if any during execution of the road passing through their land.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Jammu Alok Mengi, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Rajouri Poonch Circle Abdul Majeed Shabnum, Executive Engineer, PWD Rajouri, Sadeeq Wani, Conservator Forest Circle West Qammardin Sheikh and District Forest Officer Rajouri Mushtaq Hussain.
