JAMMU, Mar 27: Five-day “Community Leadership Executive Course” for the youth of Kishtwar of IIM Jammu was inaugurated today by Sudershan Kumar, Director, Skill Development, J&K in the presence of Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu and Prof Jabir Ali, Dean Academics.
Present on the occasion were Dr Vaseem Akram, Programme Director and Dr Bijoy Rakshit, Programme Director, IIM Jammu and Dr Pratik Maheshwari, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE & C) IIM Jammu. The programme has been organized in collaboration with the District Administration, Kishtwar, Mission Youth and Govt of Polytechnic College, Kishtwar.
Dr Devansh Yadav, DC Kishtwar, had yesterday flagged 30 students from Kishtwar District to attend a five-day “Community Leadership Executive Course” at IIM Jammu. The “Community Leadership Executive Course” from IIM Jammu is designed to provide visionary leadership and strategic thrust to the youth by sharpening their leadership skills by fostering teamwork and communication within an organization.
In the inaugural session, chief guest Sudershan Kumar enlightened the participants by highlighting the challenges faced by local industries in Jammu and discussing the solutions forward. He emphasized that the leadership training program from IIM Jammu would give a leading edge to the youth in the core areas of skill development, business incubations, entrepreneurship and the development of skill hubs in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof B S Sahay mentioned that the community leadership program is part of the Institute CSR Initiative for the people and community of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged all the participants to take up the mandate of making their District Kishtwar 100 percent literate. He mentioned that the programme will pave the path for meaningful outcomes in the interest of the people and community of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof Jabir Ali mentioned that skill development is the need of the hour and he urged all the participants to dream big and become “job creators and not job seekers”. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Vaseem Akram, Programme Director.
