Committees constituted for monitoring SVAMITVA

JAMMU, Dec 16: Government today constituted Union Territory Steering Committee (UTSC), UT Programme Management Unit (UTPMU) and District Monitoring and Review Committee (DMRC) for monitoring and reviewing the programme “Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas” (SVAMITVA).
According to the order, Administrative Secretary Revenue Department will be the chairman of the UT Steering Committee while Administrative Secretary Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department and Financial Commissioner Revenue will be co-chairman. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir/Jammu, Inspector General Registration, Commissioner Survey & Land Records J&K, Director Survey of India J&K, Director Panchayati Raj J&K, an official representative from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and State Informatics Officer NIC will be members of the UTSC. Besides, an officer nominated by the chairman/UT Nodal Officer will be the member secretary of the Committee.
As per the Government order, Financial Commissioner Revenue J&K will be chairman of the UTPMU while Divisional Commissioner Kashmir/Jammu, Director Panchayati Raj J&K, Commissioner Survey & Land Records J&K, Regional Director Survey & Land Records Jammu/Srinagar, State Informatics Officer NIC J&K, a representative of IT Department and two experts from Remote Sensing & GIS will be the members of the UTPMU. UT Nodal Officer will be the member secretary of the Committee. Further, the chairman can co-opted any other officer as member of the Committee.
DMRC will be headed by Deputy Commissioner/District Collector as chairman while concerned Regional Director Survey & land Records, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sub-District Registrar, District RDD & Panchayati Raj Officer (DPO) and District Informatics Officer NIC will be members of the Committee. Concerned Assistant Commissioner Revenue will be member secretary while one representative each of Member of District Development Council and Survey of India will be special invitees in the Committee.
