JAMMU, Aug 4: Government has constituted a committee for expeditious forest clearance of re-aligned section of National Highway 44.
According to the order, Principal Secretary PW (R&B) Department will be the Chairman of the committee, while Commissioner Secretary, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest J&K, Nodal Officer FCA Forest Department and Regional Officer NHAI Jammu will be its members.
The Committee shall review the progress on fortnightly basis to resolve bottlenecks in granting clearance for the project through PARIVESH portal and shall be served by the Public Works (R&B) Department.
