JAMMU, Oct 18: Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Service League (JKESL) today said that it is committed to allot plots to the ESM (Ex-Service Men) applicants immediately after the High Court gives a logical decision and land is handed over to it by the district administration.
“In January 2012, the J&K Government had awarded land in village Patti to establish a colony for Armed Forces war widows, veteran and their dependents i.e. Rajinder Vihar Colony but till date the J&K Government have not implemented the land award, giving enough time to land owners to change their mind due to escalation of land price over the period,” the JKESL said in a handout issued today.
It said the land owners approached J&K High Court in August 2015 to obtain stay on the land award. “We have deposited Rs 28 crore with DC Samba against the awarded land cost and balance amount collected from applicants i.e Rs 7.00 Crore (Rupees Seven Crore only) has been deposited in fixed deposits accounts with banks,” the JKESL maintained and added that it is vigorously and sincerely perusing cases and taking every possible action at its end with concerned authorities i.e. to apprise all connected Government authorities, get legally stay vacated, negotiate with land owners etc.
JKESL advised all applicants to have faith in its functioning with patience. “In case, any applicant feels insecure of his deposit or imagines mismanagement of his deposits, refund for such applicants with interest as given in colony brochure rule is open,” it stated.
