JAMMU, Nov 15: A deputation of J&K Commercial Taxes Employees Association met with Commissioner Commerc-ial Taxes, J&K, here today, regarding burning issues of the employees of Excise and Commercial Taxes Departm-ents.
The deputation, led by the Association president Nazir Ahmed Bhat, discussed the issues of the employees in detail with the Commissioner Commercial Taxes, P I Khateeb and the meeting lasted for one and a half hour. Demands put forth for immediate redressal, included:- removal of pay anomalies of Guards, Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors of the Excise and Commercial Taxes with that of the employees working in Revenue, Forest and Police Departments, grant of technical grades to the employees working in the Excise and Commercial Taxes Department on the pattern of the employees working in the technical departments, 2½ days extra salary to the Executive as well as Ministerial cadre, creation of posts of Section Officers in each office of the Dy Commissioner of Comm-ercial Taxes Department and Excise Department, up gradation of nine posts of Audit Supervisor/ Stamps Supervisor and Reader, deputing Clerical cadre employees for Secretariat Training,
The Association also drew attention towards the State Level DPC, which is pending for the last near about two years, matter regarding leave, training and deputation reserve quota, policy of Transfer/posting for the employees of Commercial Taxes Department, accommodation for those employees who are working at Check Posts and Minor Check Posts, furniture and proper infrastructure in the offices.
The Commissioner listened to the demands very patiently and issued on spot directions to the Deputy Commissioner (Hqr) to bifurcate the issues and put up in detail separately the issues pertaining to GAD and Finance Department. The Commissioner also issued directions for release of funds for uniforms, TA and other allowances for orderlies/ Process Servers and TA/ allowances for Passenger Tax officials who are performing their duties in different routes.
The Association members, present in the meeting, included Yeshvinder Singh (Chairman), Harvinder Singh (general secretary), Ekta Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Subash Chander Baru, Deepak Kumar, Ruchi Gupta, Rajesh Koul, Sourab Bali, Mohd Ishaq Malik and others.
