JAMMU, Dec 14: A 1st year college student was today killed in a road mishap in Arnia area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the youth identified as Rajat, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Arnia, received serious injuries when the bike bearing registration number JK02AS-2159 on which he was travelling, was hit by a bus bearing registration number JK02B-7821 at Arnia near Army camp.
“The profusely bleeding Rajat was immediately rushed to Primary Health Centre Arnia, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors”, he said, adding, the body has been shifted to mortuary of the hospital for postmortem.
The spokesman said that a case in this connection was registered at police station Arnia while efforts were on to nab the accused bus driver who fled from the spot of crime along with his vehicle.
