Collective operational failure

Sir,
By the time readers would read this write up, the much prolonged Pathankot encounter hopefully might have ended but not before raising and exposing more questions than answers. All in all, it has exposed the jinx in the “coordinating ability” of various security agencies and the civil administration which includes the local police as well. If we failed to neutralize the terrorists with so much of prior intelligence and that too in an area with so much concentration of defence forces believe it we really are in trouble in our fight against these armed marauders in days to come. We are not doubting the valour of our “jawans” which is always a first class, yet we got to ponder over the ways of effective and quick mobilization of forces, be it Army or NSG in similar times. The response of the district administration including police has to be  analytically fast to make a call to them and in turn the reaction of the force has to be lightening quick to pounce upon such terrorists. Alas! the role of district administration and police was neither analytically correct nor commensurate with the gravity of the situation. The coordinating ability of the various security agencies and the administration needs to be synergised fast if we are going to contain such terrorist acts without losing precious lives of our valiant soldiers in future.
Yours etc…..
