Srinagar, Nov 21: Intense cold wave continued to grip Kashmir with summer capital Srinagar and Leh Town of Ladakh division experiencing coldest nights of the season.
An official of Meteorological Department said that Srinagar recorded a minimum of -1.7 degree Celsius against previous night’s 0.3 degree Celsius while maximum temperature settled at 12.9 degree Celsius. Gulmarg in North Kashmir again was coldest in Valley where night temperature settled at -5.6 degree Celsius. Qazigund recorded 12.4 degree Celsius maximum temperature while minimum temperature settled at -0.8 degree Celsius.
Pahalgam recorded 9.9 degree Celsius day temperature and night temperature settled at -2.7 degree Celsius. Kokernag in South Kashmir recorded 10.6 degree Celsius maximum temperature while night temperature settled at -0.1 degree Celsius. The day temperature in Kupwara settled at 13.6 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at -2.9 degree Celsius.
Leh recorded a maximum of 5.9 degree Celsius while minimum temperature settled at -10.2 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Kargil was recorded 8.6 degree Celsius while night temperature settled at -6.6 degree Celsius. Meanwhile, vehicular movement on Mughal Road in south Kashmir was restored today after several days of closure. The traffic on Srinagar-Jammu and Srinagar-Leh National Highways was plying normally from either sides.
