Coalition path always difficult: AICC secy

JAMMU, Sept 15: All India Congress Committee (AICC)  secretary, in-charge J&K affairs Maimul Haque today said that coalition path was always difficult and Congress party had better experience of coalition politics than other parties.
Addressing party workers at the PCC headquarters here at his maiden visit after taking charge, the AICC leader said that it was most difficult to run Coalition Government and the Congress party has better experience to run coalition.  He asked the party men to strengthen the party at grass root level by propagating the policies of the party  and programmes of  the UPA Government, which has extended all possible support to the J&K Government. He said that the landmark initiatives of the Congress led Government at the Centre like Food Security, Right to Information, Right to Education, Right to Employment (MGNREGA) and the Land Acquisition Bill should reach to the people.
Mr Haque said that booth and Panchayat level  committees needed to be constituted in all the Assembly segments in the State in order to strengthen the party and to counter the false propaganda at the grass root level.  He at the same time also lauded the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi  and asked the party workers to follow unitedly the principles and policies of the party.  He claimed that he would convey the sentiments of the Congress men in the State to the party high command.
Earlier, on reaching here, the AICC secretary was accorded warm reception by the PCC members and other party activists. Prominent among those included MP Madan Lal Sharma, Ex-MP and senior vice president of PCC Dharam Pal Sharma, Minister for Housing and Horticulture Raman Bhalla, Th Hari Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Mula Ram, Lal Mohd Sabir, Ravinder Sharma, Indu Pawar, Vinod Sharma, Swarn Lata, Kuldip Verma, Bashir Naz, B R Kundal, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Puran Singh, Manjit Singh, G L Chalotra, Om Chopra, Parkash Sharma, Kanta Bhan and Manmohan Singh.
Meanwhile, the AICC leader also addressed a public meeting in Nagrota constituency and sought support for the party. The meeting was organized by former MLA Shivdev Singh. He claimed that Congress was committed for the 73rd and 74th Amendments and holding of Local Bodies and remaining  BDC elections in the State. Only this can help State in strengthening democracy at the grass root level. Besides Shivdev Singh, Hari Singh Chib, Narinder Sharma, Santosh Magotra, K K Pangotra, Ravi Singh, Neeraj Gupta, Sanjay Sawhney also addressed the gathering.
