SRINAGAR, Sept 2: Senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader and MLC Ramesh Arora today said that a “stable” Government is in place in Jammu and Kashmir and expressed hope that the coalition “will do well” in coming months.
Addressing a press conference here, Arora, who is also Kashmir Affairs Incharge of the party, said the two parties with different ideologies and vote bank came closer to form Government in view of mandate. “The Government was formed for development agenda and for the benefit of people of the state,” he said, adding Coalition Government is going well and would continue to do well ahead”.
The BJP leader claimed that majority of people of the State stand for full accession with India and there are “very few” who are pro-Pakistan and pro-independence.
Arora said that Pakistan should realize the ground realities and it cannot disturb peace by sending Navid like elements. “Pakistan cannot disturb peace by resorting to heavy firing and shelling on border, resulting into killing of innocents,” he said, adding that Pakistan can’t be allowed to violate peace agreements.
The BJP leader said that the issue of Jammu and Kashmir is to be resolved in view of Parliament resolution which says only dispute with Pakistan is to get back Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). He also rejected any third party between India and Pakistan.
The BJP leader further said that the mode of engagement of Modi-led BJP is different from Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “We have our own ways,” he said and added that at present no talks are going on between separatists and Government.
