JAMMU, July 29: Congress workers from Gandhinagar constituency today held strong protest against the most dangerous statement of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and condemned the PDP-BJP Coalition Government for having soft corner for the terrorists and anti-national forces.
Led by former Minister and PCC state vice president, Raman Bhalla, a large number of Congress office bearers and workers assembled at Gangyal and held strong protest demonstration today. They were carrying banners and placards and raising loud slogans against PDP and BJP. They also burnt the effigy of BJP-PDP Coalition Government.
Criticizing the CM’s statement “security forces were not aware of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani’s presence during the raid at his hideout in which he was killed and that had the security forces known about Wani’s presence the situation could have perhaps been controlled”, Mr Bhalla said that this statement has hurt the sentiments of the nationalist forces in the State and it will only promote the cause of the separatists and encourage the anti-national elements.
Bhalla further said that such a statement by none other than the State Chief Minister is also an indication of the soft approach of the Government towards all such elements who indulge in creating wedge between the Hindus and Muslims of the State and who have been causing communal tension. He reminded the Coalition Government that the terror has no colour and terrorists were the people with the communal mindset and who were responsible for committing atrocities on innocent people in Valley. The Government should explain as to why a person, who creates law and order problem and spreads communal hatred be given any sympathy. It is insult for all those who work for social harmony and sacrifice for unity and integrity of the country, Bhalla added.
The Congress leaders Satish Sharma, Dwarka Chowdary, OP Sharma, Jamal Chowdary, Shamsher Singh, Ashok Kumar, Dewan Chand, Rakesh Kumar, Baldev Singh Wazir and others also accompanied Raman Bhalla.
