JAMMU, Dec 17: A CME on Breast Cancer & Preventive Oncology was organized today at conference hall of Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The event which was organized by Directorate of Health Services Jammu in collaboration with American Oncology Institute, Precision Care Centre, Sidhra (Jammu) was graced by Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman (Director Health Services Jammu and DG, Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization) as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman directed the Consultants of the Hospital to expedite the screening of Oral, Breast and Cervix Cancer patients at an early stage as part of the NPCDCS screening.
Guest Speaker from American Oncology Institute, Dr Surbhi Kudyar (Consultant Surgical Oncology, Breast Services) presented PPT on Breast Cancer, its early detection, prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Other Guest Speaker, Dr Deepak Abrol (Senior Consultant, Radiation Oncology) presented a PPT on Preventive Oncology for all major cancers commonly seen.
Earlier, Dr Parveen Yograj (Medical Superintendent, Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu) gave an overview of the cancer statistics and current scenario of cancer in the country.
The CME, which was a continued effort by the Hospital Administration to provide quality teaching to DNB students, was attended by all the consultants, doctors, DNB residents and paramedical staff of the Hospital.
