JAMMU, Aug 25: Over 1,000 Kashmiri Hindus from across India came together under the banner of Kashmiri Hindu Prakosth in a community-wide celebration of the timeless spiritual connection between Lord Krishna and Kashmir at Kurukshetra with a special focus on the Rani Yashomati connection. The programme underscored Kashmir’s unique place in Bharatvarsha as the land of Parvati and a cradle of Sanatan civilization.
The gathering united devotees, scholars, academicians, scientists, artists and youth for collective prayers to Lord Krishna-seeking blessings for peace in Kashmir, the restoration of Dharma and the dignified return of Kashmiri Hindus to their homeland.
The Chief Minister of Haryana, Naib Singh Saini, graced the occasion along with Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, Swami Kumar Ji, Raj Nehru (OSD to CM), Somnath Sachdeva (VC, Kurukshetra University), and other distinguished dignitaries.
CM Haryana, while praising the resilience of Kashmiri Hindus, acknowledging their positive contributions to Indian society, declared the establishment of Kashmiri Pandit Heritage Centres, including one in Gurgaon by Haryana Government to preserve and celebrate the community’s cultural heritage.
Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj invoked the eternal bond between Krishna, Kashyap, Kashmir and Kurukshetra, blessing the gathering and inspiring renewed faith in compassion, courage and truth.
Raj Nehru, expressing gratitude to the Haryana CM, called the event a “collective Sankalp-a prayer and a promise-to honor civilizational roots and work for a future where Kashmiri Hindus return home in peace and dignity.”
On the occasion Haryana CM, Naib Singh Saini presented Special Recognition: The Balasaheb Thackeray “Friend of the Community” Award to Daily Excelsior for steadfast journalistic commitment to truth and advocacy for displaced Kashmiri Hindus. The Award was received by Daily Excelsior Representative, Virender Katoch.
Besides, prominent KPs who have made remarkable performance in their respective fields were also given away awards. Neerja Pandit was given award for preserving Kashmiri folk and playback music through performances, recordings, and global collaborations.
Others who were given away awards included Dr. Moti Lal Madan – Pioneer in reproductive biotechnology; credited with the world’s first IVF buffalo, Dr. Sushil Razdan – eminent neurologist, researcher, and mentor in neurosciences, Dr. Anil Kaul, global leader in infectious diseases, pandemic preparedness, and public health, Ravi Dhar – Chronicler of Kashmiri Pandit history through over 2,000 works in art and literature, Bimal Roy Jad – Fearless legal advocate, instrumental in landmark cases including challenges to Article 35A, Siddharth Zarabi – Impactful journalist and lifelong voice for displaced communities, Vikas Santosh Pandita – Entrepreneur in medical equipment services, strengthening healthcare in J&K, Chander M. Bhat – noted philatelist, author and preserver of Kashmiri heritage and Ravi Ji Bhat for restoration of sacred temples and devotion to Goddess Jawala Ji.
On the occasion a historic presentation was presented by RMK Arts & Research Foundation led by Kuldeep Saproo. The musical dance drama was staged on the coronation of Maharani Yashomati by Lord Krishna. It as written and directed by Vijay Dhar.
The community extended heartfelt thanks to the CM for guiding and supporting a program of such historic scale-one that highlighted thousands of years of Kashmir’s deep civilizational connection with the rest of India.
