Close Toll Plazas at Lakhanpur, Sarore: Sharma

JAMMU, July 31: Secretary of State Congress Committee and former Chairman of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Satish Sharma has said that due to the work on expressway running from Jammu to Lakhanpur and after the floods damaged a bridge on highway near Kathua people have to travel a long distance to reach their destinations.
Addressing a press conference here today Sharma demanded that both the Toll Plazas at Lakhanpur and in Sarore should be closed because when there is no road then why Toll is being collected from the people.
He said that ever since the work of construction of Delhi-Katra Expressway started, the road from Lakhanpur to Satwari in Jammu has been broken at everywhere and the drivers are facing a lot of difficulties.
“Earlier the drivers used to travel from Jammu to Lakhanpur in 1 hour but now it is taking more than 3 hours,” the Congress leader maintained adding that the Toll Plazas at Lakhanpur and Sarore should be stopped till the work on expressway is completed.
He further said that if these Toll Plazas are not closed soon then they will protest on streets.
