JAMMU, May 12: At least three people including two women had a close shave, when a car they were traveling in skidded off and plunged into Ranbir canal near Domana area of city outskirts.
“A car on way towards Jammu during midnight accidentally fell into Ranbir Canal near Army Public School School, Domana,” a police spokesman here today said. He said the locals informed the concerned SHO following which he directed the flying squad to rush to the spot.
“The cops without wasting time, jumped into the shallow waters and with the help of ropes and life saving gadgets, rescued two women and a boy traveling in the car,” he said, adding the injured were provided first aid and they were out of danger.
“Had it been late, the occupants might have drowned due to deep water level in the canal,” the spokesman added.
