Sir,
Global warming is affecting the basic elements of life for people around the world, access to water, food production, health and the environment. Hundreds of people suffer hunger, water shortage and coastal flooding in India and many others countries. I think the rapid rise in green house gases is a problem because it is changing the climate faster than living beings are able to adopt. I think a new and unpredictable climate poses unique challenges to all life.
The main culprit of climate change is man himself. Anthropogenic activities are mainly responsible for upsetting the delicate balance between the various components of the environment. These include population explosion, rapid industrialization, urbanization, deforestation biomass burning, increased use of automobiles etc. These activities release greenhouses gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofloro carbon (CFCs) etc, in the atmosphere and cause increase in the average global temperature. The increase temperature and humidity caused by climate change will increase the chances of spread of a number of human diseases like malaria filariasis, incidence of respiratory and skin diseases in human beings. Chlorofluorocarbons are mainly responsible for ozone depletion of the ozonosphere. If no action is taken to reduce emissions the concentration of greenhouse gases could reach double and cause harmful symptom. The management of climate change becomes everybody’s business; we can safeguard ecology, food and livelihood ecology to the maximum extent possible.
Yours etc…..
