JAMMU, July 28: Clerical staff of various departments today went on three day pen down strike in support of their long pending demands.
The strike has been launched on the call given by Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association led by Ravi Singh Bhau and Sukhbir Singh. The clerical cadre of J&K State Government observed complete pen down/Kaam Chhor Hartal across the State.
At Jammu city, while addressing the demonstrations at different offices complexes Ravi Singh Bhau, S Sukhbir Singh, Ravi Kumar, Anil Singh Slathia, Gurmeet Singh, Bashir Malik Vishav Bandu, Kapil Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma, Ankush Padha, Devinder Pal Ghulam Sabar, Ram Dass Thapa, Onkar Verma and others condemned the callous attitude of the State Govt towards the clerical cadre with regard to just and genuine demand which stands already agreed by the State Govt vide various agreements carried out between Association and the Cabinet Sub Committee of the Government and has compelled the clerical cadres to come on the road once again.
Even announcement made by the Finance Minister on the floor of the Assembly that the orders for removal of pay disparities/anomaly shall be issued immediately after Assembly session but nothing has been done till date. They once again appealed the State Govt to implement the principally agreed demands for removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre( of 5th Pay Commission) by granting the pay scale of Rs 4000-6000 to Junior Assistant, Rs 4500-7000 to Senior Assistant and Rs 5500-9000 to the Head Assistant, notionally with effect from 01-01-1996 and monetary from 19-02-2003 as has been granted in favour of other cadres.
While addressing Sukhbir Singh general secretary said that the Government has back tracked and not implemented the agreements. He said that the Governmental authorities have forced the clerical cadre to come on road.
At district headquarters also protests were held besides observing strike by the clerical cadre staff.
In Kashmir, the clerical cadre has observed complete Tala Band Hartal, while addressing the demonstrations at different complexes, Mohd Sultan, Malik Mohd Farooq, Jeelani Nikoo and Farhat Trali condemned the anti- clerical cadre policies of the State Government.
