Clerical cadre observes complete pen down strike

JAMMU, Dec 9: A complete pen down strike was observed in all the Government offices, Public Sector Units and semi-Government offices across Jammu division, Leh and Kargil districts to protest against the State Government for failing to implementing its agreement of removing pay anomalies of the clerical cadre.
In Jammu the strike was led by Babu Hussain Malik, State president Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association. All the representatives in one voice appealed to the clerical cadre and other employees of Jammu division to assemble in front of Press Club of Jammu on December 10, 2016 to show their solidarity with the clerical care employees who have been fighting tooth and nails to get the matter regarding removal of pay anomalies settled once for all.
In district headquarters the strike was successful. Mohd Issac led the strike in Doda, Mansoor Ahmed in Kishtwar, Babu Ram in Rajouri, Rakesh Ajnabi in Reasi, Kuldep Kumar in Kathua, Ravinder Singh in Poonch, Balwan Singh in Samba, Mohd Aslam Parray in Ramban, Ashok Vir Singh in Udhampur, Tashi Choswal in Leh and Mukhtia Khan in Kargil.
The main demand of the cadre is removal of pay anomalies of the clerical cadre to give grade of 4000-6000 to junior assistant, 4500-7000 to senior assistant and 5500-9000 to Head assistant and Junior Stenographers notionally with effect from January 1, 1996 and monetarily from February 19, 2003.
Other demands pertained to holding of DPC in all the departments after every six months, reorganization of the clerical cadre outside the Civil Secretariat and on the pattern of Civil Secretariat, implementation of 7th Pay Commission and increase in Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month.
