JAMMU, June 23: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) has appealed to the J&K government to clear pendency of MGNREGA payment of financial years 2016-17 to 2019-20.
In a meeting of Panchayat representatives of Jammu province at Akhnoor, AJKPC president, Anil Sharma demanded the release pending MGNREGA payment and said that Rs. 1000 crore liability is there on the J&K govt but delaying tactics are adopted by the Babus at Civil Secretariat.
The meeting unanimously passed the resolution to appeal the Lieutenant Governor to clear all MGNREGA payments within 15 days positively and make a clear policy for ex-gratia and compensation for all martyred Panchayat Raj Institution (PRI) members right from the year 2011.
Earlier, AJKPC paid tributes to the brave Jawans of Indian army who recently rendered supreme sacrifice while defending the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
Tributes were also paid to the martyr Sarpanch, Ajay Pandita.
Prominent office bearers of AJKPC & PRI members who attended the meeting were Jatinder Singh, AJKPC Vice President; Ram Saroop Sharma, Vice President; Rahul Sharma, BDC Chowki Choura; Babu Ram, Sarpanch and others.
