Class 8th student washed away in Chenab

RAMBAN, June 14: A class 8th student got washed away in river Chenab near Chandroog area, while two others were rescued.
As per police sources, a group of children were playing cricket near Chenab river, when the ball fell into the river Chenab.
A child identified as Ishfaq Ahmed (14), a class 8th student, son of Abdul Majid of Chandroog went to river Chenab bed to take out the ball, but got trapped in the strong currents of the river. Two children tried to rescue him, but failed as a result Ishfaq got washed away and the rescuers received minor injuries.
The rescuers identified as Rayees Ahmed (15), a class 9th student, son of Nazir Ahmed and Tanseer Ahmed (14), a class 8th student, son of Tanveer Ahmed, both residents of Chandroog, have been admitted in District Hospital Ramban and are under treatment, when reports last came in.
Ramban police has taken cognizance in this regard.
