UDHAMPUR, May 16: In a tragic incident, a 2nd class student died due to fall from stairs at Government Middle School Majouri in Basantgarh area, here today.
According to the police report, 2nd class student Varun Kumar (7), son of Uttam Kumar, resident of Majouri in Basantgarh area, fell from stairs at Government Middle School Majouri School, this morning. The school staff rushed the child to Sub-district Hospital Ramnagar where doctors referred him to District Hospital Udhampur. In view of his critical condition, the child was further referred to GMC Hospital Jammu where he died during treatment.
Later, the body was sent for postmortem and police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem handed over the body to family members for the last rites. An inquest proceeding under 174/CrPC has been initiated in this regard at Police Station Basantgarh.
