Class 12th students who had applied for re-evaluation unlikely to appear in CET

JAMMU, June 14:  Class 12th students who had applied for re-evaluation of their papers will unlikely be able to sit in the Combined Entrance Test (CET) scheduled to be held on June 23 as the re-evaluation process can’t be completed by Board of School Education (BOSE) authorities by that time.
According to sources about 5000 students who failed to fare well in class  12th examinations, the results of which were declared last month had applied for the re-evaluation of their papers before the BOSE. These students had filled up their forms for CET with Board of Professional Examinations (BOPE) but they can’t sit in the CET as they had to produce result of the class 12th examination.
These students had pinned high hopes that the BOSE will re-evaluate their papers before the CET which is not possible because the process is cumbersome and the Board authorities have sent the papers outside the State for the re-evaluation.
According to Board authorities, the results of those candidates were declared within days who had applied for the re-checking of their papers as the same was done by the BOSE in its office only. But the re-evaluation is a cumbersome process and it involves more time as the papers are to be sent to examiners outside the State for the same.
“We have sent the papers for re-evaluation outside the State and it will take some more time”, said Dr Javed Khateeb, Joint Secretary Secrecy BOSE. He said the re-evaluation can’t be possible here as papers were earlier examined by the examiners of the State, “hence we are constrained to send them outside the State and it can’t be done in hurry”.
He said the authorities at their best will try to complete the re-evaluation process as early as possible and “on our side we are after it but it will take some time ruling out any possibility of completing the process before the CET”.
Hundreds of candidates who got compartment, reappear or failed in the Class 12th examinations have applied for their re-evaluation of papers had simultaneously filled up the forms for CET but their chances of appearing in the same are bleak as the process will take some more time.
These students in an appeal to the BOSE authorities have urged them to expedite the process so that they can sit in the examination or find out any mechanism for the same till their result is declared.
