UDHAMPUR, May 3: In a tragic incident, a class 12th student drowned while taking bath in Chenab river at village Hadoge, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Panchari.
The deceased was identified as Ajay Kumar (18), son of Soba Ram of village Hadoge, Moungri, who was a student of class 12th in Government Higher Secondary School, Damnota.
According to the police reports, deceased Ajay Kumar along with his friends Kaku Ram (18) son of Premu and Dalair Singh (18) son of Premu, all resident of village Hadoge, Moungri, had gone to Chenab river. While taking a bath in the river, Ajay Kumar slipped into deep water and got swept away in the stream.
On being informed, SHO Panchari Arun Kaul along with a police party rushed to the spot, which is more than three hours in foot journey from Damno. Till last reports came in, body of the deceased was not found despite hectic efforts by the locals.
