JAMMU, May 21: A class 10th student allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in Kanachack.
As per police sources, class 10th student namely Ravinder Kour, daughter of Nirmal Singh of Kanachack allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence yesterday.
Finding her unconscious, family members rushed her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she failed to respond to the treatment and died late last night.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
The girl committed suicide over poor result in the recently declared class 10th result and this might be the reason behind such extreme step but exact reasons could be ascertained after investigation completes.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Kanachack police station and investigation started.
