Clashes in Kashmir; three injured

SRINAGAR: At least three persons were injured today as clashes between stone-pelting mobs and security forces were witnessed at a number of places in Kashmir valley during the general strike called by separatists against the death of two civilians during protests yesterday.

The train service connecting Banihal town in south Kashmir with Baramulla in north Kashmir was suspended today as a precautionary measure, officials said.

The clashes took place even as authorities imposed curfew-like restrictions in parts of Srinagar and Pulwama district as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

The three persons were injured in the clashes at Lelhaar village in Kakapora area, the scene of yesterday’s gunbattle between militants and security forces in which one ultra had been killed. (AGENCIES)
