JAMMU, Mar 15: Up in arms against purported refusal of the Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission for postponement of KAS Prelim Exam, which is scheduled to be held on March 19 and clashing date with SSC-CGL exam on the same day, activists of NSUI and National Panthers Students Union held separate protest demonstrations in front of Jammu University.
Reiterating their demand for postponement of the PSC exam, they raised slogans against the PSC Chairman for his alleged dictatorial and anti-students attitude.
The NSUI activists, led by State president Neeraj Kundan, assembled in front of the Jammu University main gate and held a demonstration there. They were carrying placards and raising slogans against the PSC Chairman as well as the PDP-BJP Government.
While addressing the gathering, Neeraj Kundan alleged that the State Government was playing with the career of J&K students, who are in fix over the two exams, going to held on the same day. He said that exam clash can be avoided by fixing a different date for the KAS prelims as the dates for third-tier examination of the CGL were fixed and announced much earlier.
The NSUI president appealed Governor for his personal intervention and instruct PSC to fix a date at least 4 days after March 19th so that the aspirants may appear in CGL as well as KAS (Prelim) exam.
Meanwhile, the NPSU activists held a separate protest demonstration over the same issue. Led by Thakur Virender Singh, State president NPSU, the protesters raised slogans against PSC Chairman and demanded postponement of the KAS exam.
While addressing the gathering, Singh appealed the legislators of J&K to come forward against alleged dictatorial attitude of the PSC Chairman. He also warned that if the PSC does not postpone its March 19 exam, the students and unemployed educated youth of the State would launch a massive agitation and force the State Government to remove the incumbent Chairman.
