Civil Society’s concern over shortage of doctors

KISHTWAR, June 13: Kishtwar Civil Society has expressed grave concern over shortage of doctors in District Hospital Kishtwar.
In a meeting of the Civil Society here, today its members Shamsher Singh Bhandari and Farooq Ahmad Tappal while expressing concern over shortage of doctors in the DH Kishtwar has urged the Government to fill up the vacant posts immediately as patients were facing lot of problem due to lack of doctors in getting proper treatment.
They said that normal patients are also being shifted to Jammu or other places as the various posts of specialist and medical officers are lying vacant in DH Kishtwar. They said despite the repeated pleas the authorities of Health Department have failed to fill up the posts of doctors.
The people face problems especially during the emergencies like road accidents when the injured shifted to hospital for treatment don’t get proper medicare treatment due to shortage of doctors.
They said the non seriousness of the authorities and Government towards the health care shows that Government is not concerned for the welfare of the masses especially in rural and far-flung areas of the State.
