Civil Society seeks action against local Finance Company

Excelsior Correspondent
RAJOURI, May 2: The Civil Society of Rajouri town has demanded a stern action as per law of the land against a local Finance Company for duping gullible public of their hard earned money worth crores.
Addressing a press conference here today senior citizens including Yousuf Bhat and Yogesh Sharma expressed strong resentment against the attitude of the local Administration and owner of the company one Kewal Koul. They said despite clear agreement and admission of Koul to return the money of the poor depositors, the partners/ owners of the Vikrant Finance Company were not returning the money to the depositors.
They alleged that the same company is said to have committed fraud worth over Rs 8 to 9 crore but by using influence of one of the ruling parties, the accused are hardly bothered. The police initially showed some interest in the case but now it has changed its attitude due to `un-known’ reasons. The poor depositors are still running from pillar to post to get back their money but there is no one in the Administration to help them.
Till today no action has been taken against the defaulters of this chit fund company and it shows the level of political pressure on the Police and the Rajouri District Administration.  They sought the intervention of  Chief Minister and DG Police into the matter. They also warned to start agitation if the action was not taken against the culprits including the local Congress leader associated with the Company.
