KISHTWAR, Dec 16: Irked over the unscheduled power cuts, the Civil Society here lodged protest against Power Development Department (PDD) and NHPC Limited.
While speaking, the protestors said that often 132 KV NHPC line from Udhampur develops fault and supply to twin Districts of Doda and Kishtwar get snapped and this has become routine now.
“Even today also in same transmission line, a fault has erupted and both districts are in darkness”, they said, adding that this is the second fault in last 36 hours.
They added that the contractors engaged by PDD are executing work during winters for which forced shut down is taken for several hours.
They warned to intensify their protest, if unscheduled and long duration power cuts are not stopped.
