Civil Society Baramulla celebrates ‘Varmul Day’ with fervour

SRINAGAR, July 31: Civil Society Baramulla in collaboration with several prominent stakeholders today organized a grand function at Sheerwani Hall to celebrate the ‘Varmul Day’.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar participated as the chief guest. DIG North Kashmir, SSP Baramulla Rayees Ahmed Bhat, Principal GMC Prof Ruby Reshi, district and sectoral officers among other prominent stakeholders participated in the celebration.
The function was organized to honour the services rendered by various personalities and stakeholders towards the welfare and upliftment of the society. About 11 imminent personalities, who contributed positively in their respective domains, were honoured on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner, in his address complimented the organizers for honouring such personalities in the society which feel us proud and keep our heads high. Bhupinder Kumar also highlighted the services of COVID-19 warriors and said that these warriors worked tirelessly and selflessly during the tough circumstances emerged due to the outbreak of the pandemic. He also emphasized that every stakeholder should identify his role and should endeavour to contribute and play its part towards the welfare of the society.
Earlier, Engineer Tariq Ahmad Mughloo (chairman of Varmul Civil Society) presented welcome address. He said that every place has its own heroes who work hard for the upliftment of their areas and society. Referring to the personalities honoured on the occasion, he said that their work and contribution will also motivate others from the community to work for their own people.
Mughloo, who is also general secretary of the Baramulla Traders Federation, said that the Varmul Civil Society in future will also keep honouring the members of the society who work for the welfare of their people.
