JAMMU, May 2: Civic Safaikaramchari Union (CSU) has claimed corrupt practices in Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
In a press conference here today CSU president, Rinku Gill claimed that regular corrupt practices are going on in JMC for hiring of manpower in the name of Safaikaramcharis by engaging skilled and highly skilled (drivers and computer operators) labourers through Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
He claimed that an officer of JMC misused his official position and indulged in corrupt practice and favouritism by engaging 32 NGO labourers within a short span of time by charging Rs. 1-2 lakh from each labourer.
The CSU leader also said that even HUDD wrote to JMC regarding backdoor engagements in the urban local body.
The Union leader demanded strict action against the officer defaming the name of JMC by indulging in corrupt practice for hiring manpower through NGO.
