Civic action prog by BSF at border village

SAMBA, Oct 20: The 126th battalion of BSF organized a civic action programme at village Ben Galad in Ramgarh sub sector of Samba today.
The programme was chaired by Hari Lal, Commandant 126th Battalion. Scores of people and students from village Keso, Koulpur, Ben Galad and Kamour participated in the programme.
A friendly volley ball tournament was organized by the battalion which was played between village youth and BSF jawans. Youth from village Keso won the tournament.
Commandant, distributed trophy, medals and track suits to among the first, second and third teams of village Keso, Koulpur and Ben Galad, respectively.
The battalion also organized a free medical comp at the venue. The Commandant inaugurated the camp in presence of local dignitaries and reputed persons of the border villages. During the camp Dr T Sai Krishna Medical Officer of 126 BN BSF, team of doctors of Govt Hospital Samba including Dr Arun Sharma (Superintendent), Dr Ashwani Kumar (Ortho), Dr Anuradha (Opthal), Dr Saurav Katoch (Physician) and Dr Yogesh along with paramedical staff attended patients and distributed free medicines among the needy patients. Refreshment was also provided by the unit to villagers who attended the medical camp as well civic action programme.
A toilet has also been constructed and donated by 126 Bn BSF to Govt Girls High School, Bengalad as a part of programme. The civil population thanked BSF and requested to organize more such progarmmes in future.
Commandant welcomed Sarpanch, Principle, villagers, students and stated that BSF is deployed on the International Border for security of people and to promote safe, secure and prosperous border area. He asked border population to come forward with their valuable ideas, which can be implemented for better management and for betterment of their living standards. He urged border population to share information about any stranger visiting their villages immediately so that prompt action can be taken by BSF.
