City witnesses protests seeking release of 3 detained JKDF youths

JAMMU, Oct 11: The Jammu city and its outskirts witnessed various protest demonstrations in support of three JKDF youths, who were detained in Srinagar for forcibly entering into the House.
In this regard a protest demonstration led by Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front activist, Vivek Raja, was held in Talab Tillo, wherein the police resorted to cane charge on peaceful protestors leading to injuries to five JKDF activists including women.
The persons injured due to the use of brutal force by police included Vivek Raja, Rohit Kerni, Tarsem Lal, Neelam Devi and Roshan Lal.
The agitating youths were demanding immediate release of the trio, alleging that they have not committed any crime; their aim was only to attract the attention of public representatives towards the alarming situation, arisen in the State due to unemployment.
A three-hour token strike was also observed by Jammu Auto Operators Union at Prem Nagar here to express solidarity with the detained JKDF youth and demanded their immediate release.
