SRINAGAR, Aug 8: A corporate delegation led by, Shreekant Somany, chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) met Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga at SKICC today.
The meeting discussed various issues relating to corporate investment in J&K.
The Deputy Chief Minister asked CII Chairman to explore avenues of investment in tourism, handloom, handicrafts, horticulture produce and other allied sectors which have tremendous potential of growth in J&K. He assured of conducive business-friendly environment to investors.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Industries hoped that CII would cover J&K and invest generously. He said there is no dearth of skilled manpower in the State.
Both the Ministers assured the investors that they would be provided full cooperation from the State Government in establishing industrial or business units.
Principal Secretary, Industries, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Co-Chairman, Special Task Force on Manufacturing & Make in India, CII NR & CEO, KPMG in India, Richard Rekhy, Chairman CII Jammu & Kashmir State Council, Chander Prakash Gupta and other members besides senior officers of the concerned department were present on the occasion.
