JAMMU, Dec 24: Panun Kashmir (PK) represented the concerns of the Pandits & the minorities of Jammu & Kashmir in the Asia-Pacific Hindu Conference at Bali, Indonesia:
Panun Kashmir president, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo participating in the Asia-Pacific Hindu Conference at Bali-Indonesia raised the issue of Kashmiri Pandit ethnic cleansing in his presentation.
The international conference held at the Bali Governor’s Assembly Hall was attended by prominent dignitaries of India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Germany, US, UK and Bangladesh, besides former and present official personalities.
The president of Global Hindu Foundation, Pardip Kukreja presided over the conference. The past Bali Governor, Army officers, bureaucrats and prominent leaders and activists of Prajaniti party were present on the occasion. The Consul General of India, Sunil Babu and Anand Krishna of Anand Ashram, Bali also attended the conference.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Panun Kashmir president in his address in the first session of the conference said that Hindus anywhere in the world represent the strategic concerns of the Indian nation. Hindus all over the world look up to India for inspiration and as the hope of last resort. The Government of India needs to implement the “Look East” policy vigorously in the Eastern part of the world. There has been a perceptible positive change among the world community towards India over the last five years. Moreover, Indian Diaspora is also playing a key role in this context.
The indigenous people of Kashmir -the Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to live as refugees in their own country are continuing to face genocide. Their forced extermination from Kashmir at the hands of the Islamic terrorists was followed by their being forced to get scattered throughout the world. This cuts at the root of the homogeneity and existence of the community as a living socio-cultural-civilizational unit. It also is tantamount to finishing the community in full or in part which is a crime against humanity as per the Convention on Prevention & Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
The demand of Homeland in Kashmir by the displaced community is the only appropriate response to the unparallel situation created after the 1947 division of country and the holocaust.
