JAMMU, June 20: Dr Ajay Chrungoo, chairman Panun Kashmir (PK), castigated the Government for the continued killing of Hindus in Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of prominent KP activists organised here at Roop Nagar today, Dr Chrungoo said the present Government in New Delhi is brazenly pursuing the policies of denial of Hindu genocide and it puts a question mark on their security front.
While expressing concern over selective killings in Valley, he lamented that we have been time and again repeating and reminding that the Hindu employees in Kashmir are frontal targets of genocidal assault and worst victims of denial of genocide but no one took us seriously.
This so called employment package is a vicious process of hostaging Hindus to an Islamist Order only to ensure its secular cosmetic dressing. It was never an initiative for their return and rehabilitation, Dr. Chrungoo said.
Speaking on the occasion Pyare Lal Kaul Budgami made a fervent appeal to the displaced community to follow the policies and programmes of PK.
Hira Lal Bhat a BJP leader assured the gathering that he will strive every nerve in communicating the concerns and problems of the community to the ruling party. He said that it is very important to communicate the community’s expectations in the right perspective to the ruling class .
B L Dhar, impressed a social activist upon the Government to accept the homeland demand.
Raj Nath Raina, a veteran trade unionist urged the gathering to guard the interests of the displaced community and thwart every such act , which is inimical to the larger community interest.
Morare Jee Kaul, social activist suggested that PK should explain its policies and programmes to various other community forums.
Ashok Dhar, coordinator PK asked the Government to relocate the striking PM package employees to Jammu immediately.
BihariLal Kaul organising secretary PK conducted the proceedings.
Kashmiri Pandits United Front (KPUF) held a protest in front of the United Nations Office here on the World Refugee Day under the convenership of Satish Kissu. They handed over a memorandum to the UN officials. Protesters were critical of the UN’s silence on the genocide committed on Kashmiri Pandit community by Pakistan sponsored terrorists. They demanded that Pakistan should be declared a terrorist country and without strong action against Pakistan, rehabilitation of KPs in Kashmir is not possible. The members displayed their plight and suffering through banners highlighting discrimination and injustice meted out towards the community.
The theme of the protest was to awaken the consciousness of the UN for taking decisive and strong action against Pakistan and bringing the facts of genocide committed upon the community before the world.
On the World Refugee Day Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has submitted a memorandum to United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). While highlighting the plight of exiled Pandits who have been thrown out from valley 32 years back, KPC president, Kundan Kashmiri sought immediate intervention of UNHCR for appropriate action in providing justice to the community and punishing Pakistan responsible for sending armed desperados to Kashmir.
