JAMMU, Mar 12: The residents of village Chowchara in Samba district held a demonstration today in protest against the overcharging by the auto drivers.
The protest was led by Sarpanch Charan Dass and Sunil Sharma a local leader.
The protestors alleged that the people are charged Rs 10.00 per passenger by auto drivers against the approved rate of Rs 7.00 per passenger.
Giving two days ultimatum to the authorities, the protestors warned to launch a massive agitation in case they failed to settle the issue and take action against the erring auto operators.
