Puducherry, July 15: Choudhary Mohammed Yasin, the 2015 batch AGMUT Cadre IAS officer, has been appointed as Secretary to Government in the Union Territory of Puducherry after formally joining duties on July 14.
As per an order issued by the UT Government, he has been assigned important portfolios including Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Ports, and Information Technology.
He will also serve as Secretary-cum-Commissioner of State Tax and Chief Executive Officer of Puducherry Smart City Development Ltd.
A son of the soil, Yasin has earlier served in various significant roles in Jammu and Kashmir, including as Managing Director of JKPDCL.
