Choudary is new AOC Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 9: Air Commodore VS Choudary took over the command of Air Force Station Srinagar as Air Officer Commanding (AOC) from Air Commodore Manoj Marathe during an impressive ceremonial parade held at Air Force Station here today.
Defence spokesman, Col Rajesh Kalia, said that Air commodore VS Choudary was commissioned in Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot on December 17, 1988. “He has served with various fighter squadrons and has a vast experience in fighter operations. He is a qualified flying instructor and a fighter strike leader,” said Col Kalia.
He has undergone the prestigious defence services staff college course, the defence spokesman said, adding that during his illustrious career, Air Commodore VS Choudary has held many important assignments and staff appointments including the command of Wing and a Fighter Squadron.
“Meena Rawat took over as the President of the Air Force Wives Welfare association (Local) from Manjiri Marathe,” Col Kalia added.
