JAMMU, Oct 12: Pilgrims visiting the famous Shiv Khori shrine in Reasi district are likely to get helicopter services very soon and a formal decision in this regard may be taken in the upcoming meeting of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB).
The construction of helipad and allied infrastructure along with approach road is almost complete and helipad service is likely to start very soon, informed District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Ravinder Kumar, who is also the Vice Chairperson of Shiv Khori Shrine Board.
A successful trial run for the chopper service, carrying some Bollywood stars and singers, who were here in connection with Navratra Festival, was conducted yesterday with all the safety measures taken into consideration by SSKSB.
During the trial run, the DDC told the Excelsior, the chopper safely covered the distance between Katra and Shiv Khori Shrine in 12 minutes and landed at Shiv Khori helipad safely.
According to the DDC, tendering process regarding the chopper services is being initiated and the whole process would be completed in short span.
It is pertinent to mention that helicopter service to the Shiv Khori Shrine had been started earlier also but the same was stopped due to landslides and some other technical issues.
