China in the dock

Sir,
The conspiracy theories blaming the Peoples Republic of China for not being open enough about the origins of COVID-19 and its subsequent impact in the initial days of its spread have led to many raise serious concerns about the consequences of a China dominated global order.
As Beijing steadily starts dominating the global institutions of prominence, (World Health Organization being the latest one), red flags are being raised about the impact China has on them.
China has an opaque way of functioning where dissident and question have no place. Rarely does the truth emerge out from the corridors of communist China. Understandable, the Chinese version of the story on COVID-19 isn’t being accepted by the world. The conspiracy theory becomes more plausible when we hear that except Chinese stock markets, all the leading world stock markets are crashing with only the Chinese managing to make an upward trajectory. Also, irony died when China banned the entry of the foreign nationals in the mainland arguing that foreign travelers are a source of virus.
Once, the pandemonium caused by the nastiest virus mankind has witnessed in decades settles down, the world leaders need to take a serious and impartial look at the role of Beijing in the supposedly new world order. But given the immense clout and raw cash Beijing has at its disposal, it seems a task too steep to be achieved easily.
