Chilli, turmeric up on stockists buying

NEW DELHI, June 27:  Red chilli and turmeric rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying support from local parties and stockists amid low stocks.
Furthermore, fall in supplies from producing belts and firming trend in futures market supported the upside.
Chilli and turmeric prices rose Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,600-15,300 and Rs 8,000-12,500 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up chilli and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 610-760, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,825-1,850 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 2,070-2,120.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 800-860, cardamom (colour robin) 800-820, cardamom bold 810-830, cardamom extra (bold) 940-990 and cloves 750-850. (PTI)
