Chilli, turmeric rise on stockists buying

NEW DELHI, Nov 16:  Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.
Firming trend in futures market and fall in supplies from producing belts also supported the upside in prices.
Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 7,500-13,300 and Rs 5,700-10,600 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up chilli and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
The following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 12,000-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 520-670, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 900-980 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,250.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 680-780, cardamom (colour robin) 620-720, cardamom bold 670-720, cardamom extra (bold) 820-920 and cloves (kg) 850-930. (PTI)
