NEW DELHI, June 16: Chilli teja prices moved down by 1.55 per cent to Rs 8,500 per quintal in futures trading today as participants reduced positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market due to subdued demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli teja for delivery in June fell by Rs 134, or 1.55 per cent to Rs 8,500 per quintal with an open interest of 5 lots.
The spice for delivery in July contracts shed Rs 18, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 9,150 per quintal in 2,590 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to low demand in the spot market against adequate stock mainly led to decline in chilli teja prices at futures trade. (PTI)
