JAMMU, Feb 29: Labour Department has rescued two children under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986.
Under the supervision of ALC Jammu, team of officials from the Labour Department in coordination with Childline Jammu conducted inspections under the Act and rescued two children working at a prominent sweets shop in Canal Road area of the city.
The rescued children were later handed over to CWC Trikuta Nagar.
During inspection, ALC Jammu, Devia Nanda urged the establishments and public in general to refrain from employing children under the age of 14 years.
Nanda also made the establishments aware about the regulation of employment of children falling in the age group of 14-18 years.
