Child killed in accident, labourer electrocuted

JAMMU, July 16: A male child was killed today in a road accident in Bathindi area while a man died due to electrocution in Gangyal area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a male baby of age about 2 years was hit and severely injured by a speeding car when he suddenly came on a road at Vidhata Nagar (Bathindi).
“The injured baby namely Mohd Anash son of Abu Kalam, resident of Vidhata Nagar, was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” the official said.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the Hospital while Bathindi police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, a migrant labourer from Bihar namely Ram Murti (29) son of Poni Shah, received severe electric shock this afternoon from an electric fan at his rented accommodation in Gangyal area. He was immediately rushed to GMCH Jammu but doctors there declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the Hospital while Gangyal police had taken cognizance of the matter.
