JAMMU, Oct 5: At the time when border people are in terror of unprovoked firing from Pakistan, there is a need to take care of people who are residing in border areas of the State said R.S Chib, former Minister and general secretary, J&K PCC.
He took up the issue today when he visited at the border belt of Suchetgarh. While addressing a series of meetings in Border area of Suchetgarh, he expressed shock and anguish over continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan Army and unprovoked firing with heavy arms like Mortars, targeting civilian population living in villages, along the International Border (IB).
Chib along with prominent Congress workers visited those areas in Devigarh (Sai Sector) where many houses were damaged, two buffaloes were killed and three other cattles were injured.
Chib also addressed meetings at Beaspur-Parlah and Satrayian and urged upon the Government of India to adopt a tough posture towards Pakistan. He said that “enough is enough” and our forces should be directed to retaliate with iron hands. Chib urged upon the administration to provide compensation in respect to those whose cattles have been killed due to Pakistan firing. He made special mention of Bishamberlal of Devigarh who lost two valuable buffaloes and three of them were injured badly.
