JAMMU, May 19: R S Chib, senior Congress leader and former Minister, has said that the education system, especially school education, stands fully paralyzed, because of the wrong policies of the Governments in the past, as well as the present PDP-BJP regime.
“This most important sector was never, accorded priority by any regime and the responsibility of running the Education Department was given in the hands of illiterate, incompetent and inexperienced persons except a few, purely on political considerations,” he alleged while addressing the teachers, students and public at Government Girls High School Satrayan, here today.
Mr Chib further added that the teaching faculty was treated with total lackadaisical approach and the teachers were transferred on monetary consideration, in places of their choice and the competent, experienced and honest lot was totally sidelined and posted in insignificant places, with the result, the functioning of Education Department was adversely effected. “The students started migrating to private schools, which are flourishing day by day and Government Schools are almost deserted, especially in rural areas,” he said and alleged that the coaching centers were in league with Government schools, whose students are attending these coaching centers during working hours with the understanding of the management of these schools.
The function was organized by the Panchayat Sattowali in order to felicitate, the teachers and the students of Government Girls High School Satrayan for achieving 100 percent results in Metric during this session.
