JAMMU, July 31: As the 40 day long annual Swami Amarnath Yatra is on the last leg, the holy mace (Chhari Mubarak) of Lord Shiva will leave for cave shrine on August 2 morning from Dashnami Akhara Srinagar where it has been kept for darshan of devotees since July 26 after the Chhari Sathapana.
The holy mace will be led by its custodian Mahant Deependra Giri and accompanied by Sadhus and other devotees. Enroute the Chhari Mubarak will pay obeisance at Durga Nag temple Srinagar and other temples and shrines including Sun temple of Martand, Mattan in Anantnag district while it will also perform pooja in a traditional way.
The Chhari Mubarak will reach Pahalgam in the evening of August 2 where after a night halt it will leave for Chandanwari on August 3. After a night halt at Chandanwari the Chhari Mubarak will leave for Sheshnag on August 4. Next day i.e on August 5 it will leave for Panchtarni the last halting station enroute to holy cave via Chandanwari-Sheshnag track. After a night halt at Panchtarni the holy mace will leave for cave shrine situated at an altitude of 3880 meters in deep Himalays in the morning of Shrawan Purnima coinciding with Raksha Bandhan falling on August 7. After performing pooja archana for entire day at holy cave in a traditional way and holding special prayers for the restoration of peace in the trouble torn State, the silver mace of Lord Shiva will return to Panchtarni on the same day.
After a night halt at Panchtarni it will return towards Pahalgam next day morning on August 8. On August 9 the immersion ceremony will held in the river Lidder at Pahalgam which will be followed by serving of traditional Kari Pakorra and Prashad to Sadhus and other devotees. Later the holy mace will return towards its abode at Dashnami Akhara in Srinagar.
The True Trust’, has made all the necessary arrangements like yester years for Sadhus and needy from the general public coming from across the country to join Chhari-Mubarak of Swami Amarnath Ji Yatra including their food, accommodation and transportation during the pilgrimage.
Meanwhile on the 33rd day of 40 day yatra today 1,571 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave and cumulatively since the beginning of the pilgrimage 2,55,542 yatris coming from different parts of the country performed the darshan in cave shrine an official spokesman said.
He said over 200 pilgrims left from twin base camps of Nunwan, Pahalgam in South Kashmir district of Anantnag and Baltal, Sonamarg in Central Kashmir district of Ganderbal for holy cave this morning.
Besides, the yatris stationed at halting stations of Sheshnag and Panchtarni also left for holy cave early this morning, he added.
The spokesman said the majority of the yatris after performing darshan have returned to their respective states while others are on way. The Government has made fool proof security arrangements for the pilgrims in view of the militants threat, he added.
A fresh batch of 173 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Jammu Yatri Niwas for twin base camps of Nunwan and Baltal early this morning under tight security arrangements in six vehicles.
This batch of pilgrims will leave for holy cave early tomorrow morning from the respective base camps.
